EUROBASKET 2011

Turning Point: Already up by four at half-time, Finland exploded during the third quarter with a devastating 34 points in the period to put the game out of the reach of Bosnia and Herzeogvina.

Game Heroes: It was a truly excellent team performance by Finland with Mikko Koivisto, Tukka Kotti, Petteri Koponen and Gerald Lee inseparable as the main contributors.

Stats Don't Lie: In their previous two games, all the talk was about the lack of scoring inside for Finland but they certainly put that right with 48 points in the paint.

It was a case of third time lucky for vibrant Finland as they finally got off the mark in Group C in Alytus.

An explosive third quarter offensive barrage of 34 points paved the way as they completed an impressive 92-64 victory over a lacklustre Bosnia and Herzegovina for whom Henry Domercant fought something of a lone fight with 25 points.

Domercant was hot right from the tip off and handed his team a 14-8 lead but couldn't prevent Finland from surging 24-20 in front by the end of a pulsating opening quarter.

The second period was less fluent but no less gripping as Finland edged matters 42-38 at the interval before returning to blow their opponent away with a superbly energetic third quarter display.

They came racing out of the blocks to establish a double-digit lead inside three minutes as Sasu Salin converted from the wing to put his team 51-40 ahead.

Not surprisingly, there was a party mood inside the Arena amongst the Finnish fans as their team wrapped up a stunning third period with back to back threes.

Finland never looked back and any notion of a Bosnia and Herzegovina fight-back disappeared altogether when Domercant and Teletovic were taken out of the game for the final quarter.
