Team 2010-11: Portland Trail Blazers (USA-NBA) Career: DKV Joventut Badalona (Spain-ACB, 2001-08), Portland Trail Blazers (USA-NBA, 2008-2011)
Rudy Fernandez did not wait long before making his name famous in the USA as he set the record for most three-pointers made in a rookie season in the NBA with 159. Since then, has become a consumate offensive danger and a fan favorite in Portland. When he is given the green light to express his unique array of scoring weapons, which has not always been the case with the Blazers, Rudy is a pest for defenses. He can rush to the rim and finish in dramatic fashion or hit one deadly three-pointer after another. Rudy is so fast and so skilled that he does not need much room to manoeuvre and can create his own shooting opportunities. He also has that particular talent for getting under his opponents' skin and make their life hell. On draft night the Blazers dealt Rudy to the defending NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks where he will have the opportunity to play along side EuroBasket foe Dirk Nowitzki. |
