The "wunderkind" of Czech basketball was recently voted the country's top player for 2013 and arguably has the potential to become the leader of the national team. Satoransky learned basketball in Prague with the junior teams of USK but evidently what helped make him a complete player is rubbing shoulders against the very best in the tough world of Liga Endesa with Cajasol in Spain, where he moved at age 17. His first shot to fame with the Sevilla club came during the Eurocup Final in 2011 (where they lost to Unics Kazan) but last season Satoransky transformed into one of the Cajasol front-runners in Liga Endesa, averaging almost 29 minutes on the floor 12 points, three rebounds and four assists-per-game (second overall in the league!), earning joint-MVP honours at the club, alongside American Latavious Williams. Satoransky is the archetype of the modern point guard - tall, slim and with a tendency for the spectacular - he has entered and won the dunk contest of Liga Endesa on two occasions. Led the national team in minutes on the floor (30) and assists-per-game (4.6) during the EuroBasket 2013 Qualification Round. He was selected by the Washington Wizards at number 32 in the 2012 NBA Draft and many expected him to make the move to DC this summer but the Wizards asked him to spend one more year in Europe.
