| 18.08.2010 Young forward Tomas Mrvis was proud of his performance after scoring his first points for the Slovak Republic at senior level in Tuesday's 60-52 EuroBasket Division B win over Switzerland.
Mrvis' scored on a driving lay-up in the third quarter that helped the Slovak Republic rally from 43-35 down to pull out the victory.
"I played really well," said the 19-year-old Handlova winger, who also recorded two rebounds and a steal. "I was in there in the second half when the game was in the balance. The coach emphasized more aggression and defensive rebounds. We were able to attack and build a lead."
The Slovak Republic will next face Cyprus in their Group C campaign on Sunday. Cyprus are winless through two games so far, but Marek Kozlik knows they must be taken seriously.
"We cannot underestimate our opponents," he said. "But we want to record a major victory. The Czechs managed to beat them by 43 points (93-50) and we want to try to do the same." |
