EUROBASKET 2011

Italy signed off with a victory over Greece on the third and final day of the Trofeo Tassoni in Rimini, Italy.

The event was a warm-up tournament for the EuroBasket in Lithuania, which begins on August 31.

The Italians got 28 points from Andrea Bargnani in an 82-73 victory to leave both sides with 2-1 records.

The Azzurri also got 17 points from Danilo Gallinari and 14 from Daniel Hackett.

The Italians had won 67-61 over Poland falling in a surprise defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina in their first game.

"This victory has been a great satisfaction," said Italy coach Simone Pianigiani.

"The players fully deserved it for the effort they have shown since the start of our training camp.

"Ours is a journey in which we are gaining a lot of experience and these games represent so much, not just because of the results.

"Despite having players still missing and the different tactics, we have shown a great spirit."

Greece had trashed Poland 71-50 and then beaten Bosnia and Herzegovina 87-62 in their first two games.

Poland hammered the Bosnians 87-68 to make sure they did not leave Rimini without a victory.
