After a three year absence-having not played at this level since the Olympic Games of 2008 - Sarunas Jasikevicius could be back wearing the National Team vest once more at the age of 35. Quite simply, if he does make a return, Lithuania will welcome back a true legend and one of their best ever court leaders. While the inevitability of time may mean he is unable to lead from the front as he did during his glory days, his wealth of experience and brilliant basketball brain could be pivotal. His ability to make the right decisions at the right time and generally maintain his composure and execute during crunch time could be priceless for a relatively inexperienced Lithuanian backcourt. The resume of Jasikevicius is laden with titles and almost emits the sweet smell of success. Should he complete a fairy tale return and lead Lithuania to any kind of success on home soil, it might just prove to be the most important on a very long list of achievements. |
