Veteran forward Hanno Mottola needs little introduction since he remains the most famous Finnish basketball player having been the first from his nation to make it stateside and play in the NBA. Almost an entire decade has elapsed since he stepped out with the Atlanta Hawks back in the day but since he left the big league after two campaigns, he has enjoyed an impressive career with some of the biggest teams in European basketball and played regularly in Euroleague as well as winning a host of domestic league titles. Mottola will celebrate his 35th birthday during EuroBasket 2011 and while his minutes have dropped, there is no downturn in his leadership, experience or ability to contribute in a big way. He came back out of retirement in 2009 having quit the game a year earlier although didn't play much last summer due to injuries, something which also impacted upon his 2010-11 Korisliiga season where he didn't feature very much. He will probably be used as an impact player when the coach needs a cool and collected veteran on the floor.
