Throughout his distinguished career, Thomas Van Den Spiegel has been a prominent figure for the National Team and also at a host of top European clubs. He has won many titles and for several years, he was a near permanent fixture at the Euroleague Final Four by way of his time at CSKA Moscow and Real Madrid. A formidable presence in the paint, the defensive skills of Van Den Speigel remain his main strength and Belgium will certainly have one of the most experienced frontcourt players at EuroBasket 2011 in the five spot. Van Den Speigel recently exchanged his success in Euroleague for reaching the EuroChallenge Final Four earlier this year with BC Telenet Oostende while last summer be broke his wrist and only played a bit-part role in qualification playing the last six games. He will continue to provide valuable leadership, defence and rebounding for his team.
