Team 2010-11: Atlanta Hawks (USA-NBA)
Career: Vita Tblisi (Georgia-D1, 1997-99), Fenerbahce (Turkey-TBL, 1999-03), Orlando Magic (USA-NBA, 2003-04), Milwaukee Bucks (USA-NBA, 2004-05), Atlanta Hawks (USA-NBA, 2005-11)
Zaza Pachulia is the leader of the Georgia National Team and enjoys both iconic status back home in Tblisi and also cult status in Atlanta. Fans of the Hawks have watched him for six seasons now and in addition to his skills, they adore his commitment, aggression and love of the game. While his passion has occasionally spilled over with some well documented altercations, this should not detract from his game which is hugely effective and saw him dominate last summer during the Qualifying Round. He is likely to be one of the best big men at EuroBasket 2011 since when he pulls on the Georgia vest, he gets the minutes which are sometimes lacking as a back-up center in the NBA. He is one of the toughest players around and will really mix things up in the paint. He will also be important defensively since he should ensure no opposing big men take too many liberties and have to work hard for their points and rebounds.
