Last summer at the FIBA World Championship, Sinan Guler produced the best form of his career for Turkey with a fantastic all-round contribution. He was accurate in his shooting from outside and finished well offensively, perhaps surpassing everyone's expectations since he has always been known as much more of a defensive specialist. He is a high quality defender who more often than not can cause opposing ball-handlers to crack just when it matters most due to his athleticism, energy and relentless swarming defence. That means he is never far away from a key steal and since he just loves running the open court, once he has completed a defensive raid, he is racking up a score on the board before you have had time to blink. While the Efes Pilsen guard might not be a classic playmaker in a half-court sense, he is still smart enough to manage his weaknesses while his intensity could again prove the catalyst for Turkey.
