Viktor Sanikidze - EuroBasket 2011 Profile
Team 2010-11: Virtus Bologna (Italy-Lega)

Career: Globe Tech (USA-NCAAJ, 2001-02), Academy Tblisi (Georgia-D1, 2002-03), Dijon (France-Pro A, 2003-06), Estudiantes (Spain-ACB, 2006-07), Dinamo Tbilisi (Georgia-Superleague, 2008), Tartu Rock (Estonia-EMKL, 2008-09), Virtus Bologna (Italy-Lega, 2009-11)

Viktor Sanikidze is nicknamed "Air Georgia" by fans of Bologna and it's not difficult to understand why. He loves to play the game above the rim and has an unquenchable thirst for rebounds and dunks. Meanwhile Georgian fans thrive on watching him play too and they particularly love it when he combines with Tsintsadze for spectacular alley-oops. He is a player who has always been set up for success ever since claiming double-doubles right throughout his youth career. He was captain at the U20 European Championship Division B during 2006 when he helped his team win the tournament and was also crowned MVP. While he has had some injuries in previous years, including operations on his knees, he has still been very productive for the senior team and also in Italy where he was an All Star participant earlier this year.
