After leaving his hometown club in Tuzla to head for the Serbian capital, Elmedin Kikanovic managed to make something of a splash with Red Star Belgrade - although not always in a positive sense. He produced some nice performances during his time on court and particularly in European club competition where he used his mobility, impressive shooting touch and soft hands to great effect. He can also explode around the rim, run the floor and flush down some exciting dunks. However things turned sour last year when he received a 12 month ban for breaking doping regulations. When it comes to the National Team, Kikanovic made his debut at the tender age of 18 back in 2006 during the Qualifying Round for EuroBasket 2007. While he missed last summer due to his ban, he should be back in the line-up at EuroBasket 2011 and trying to show he can get his career back on track. |
