Career: L'Hospitalet (Spain-Junior, 2006-07), L'Hospitalet (Spain-LEB, 2007-08), Ricoh Manresa (Spain-ACB, 2008-09), Oklahoma City (USA-NBA, 2009-11)
The ultimate Cinderella story! Just three years ago, the Congo native (who just received his Spanish citizenship) was playing in the Spanish second division and, now, he is an up-and-coming star in the NBA and a great addition for Spain at EuroBasket 2011. After leaving Congo with his parents, Serge played in France, with Prissé-Mâcon, joined the CB L'Hospitalet in Spain and then Manresa, for a three-year contract that gave him the opportunity to leave for the NBA at any time. He did not wait too long as he finally made some consistent debuts with Oklahoma City in 2009-2010, and moreover, had a remarkable season in 2010-11. In the first round of the play-offs, the phenomenal defender recorded 9 blocks in a game against Denver! As a matter of fact, Serge finished third in that category during the regular season (2.4bpg).
