Team 2010-11: Cedevita Zagreb (Croatia-A1) Career: Charleston (USA-NCAA, 2003-07), Sydney Kings (Australia-NBL, 2007-08), Hyeres Toulon (France-Pro A, 2008), BC Oostende (Belgium-D1, 2008-09), Prima Veroli (Italy-Lega Due, 2009-10), Cedevita Zagreb (Croatia-A1, 2010-11)
The potential inclusion of Baltimore-born Dontaye Draper hasn't been met with universal approval by Croatian fans but the guard will certainly offer some much needed additional firepower to the table. He truly burst onto the scene last season with Cedevita Zagreb and was crowned Eurocup MVP after some sensational performances. He is a reliable enough shooter but it is his ability to explode to the hoop and either finish or dish that has proved so effective. He is not the biggest player but is lightening quick off the dribble and draws plenty of fouls. In fact last season he was the leader in a raft of categories for Cedevita and the most effective player in Eurocup. Those are just a few reasons why Croatia have acted to secure his services, even if it hasn't been welcomed by all the fans. |
