Czech Republic coach Pavel Budinsky has praised his players after they reached the final of the Sofia Award warm-up tournament after only one week of training camp ahead of their EuroBasket qualifiers.

The Czechs beat Austria 87-66 in Monday's semi-final to book their ticket in the final, where they will take on Bulgaria.

Pavel Pumprla led the charge with 20 points, while Jason Detrick did his best for Austria with 21.

"Considering this was our first game after only one week of work, I think we can be satisfied with our play," said Budinsky.

"Our goal was to give minutes to all of the players here, and I'm really happy with how we played as a team.

"We wanted to be active at both ends of the court and bring a lot of energy, and this is the most important reason behind our win."

The Czech Republic will compete in Group C when Division B play gets under way, and will face the Slovak Republic, Cyprus, and Switzerland.

Austria are in Group A, pitting them against Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Estonia.
