After missing the FIBA World Championships last summer, this veteran forward and the team co-captain at EuroBasket 2009 could be back to lend some valuable experience. He has been almost ever present during the last decade and is very much an integral part of the relative success Germany has achieved. After several spells playing in Italy, Schultze returned home to the German League two years ago with Alba Berlin and has shown why even at the age of 33, he still has much to offer. He can score inside, rebound, run the floor and punish any teams who leave him open on the perimeter. He missed EuroBasket 2007 because of being diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat, but bounced back to average 6.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in Poland two years ago.
