Team 2010-11: BC Khimky Moscow Region (Russia-PBL) Career: Washington State (USA-NCAA, 2001-05), Dexia-Mons Hainaut (Belgium-D1, 2005-06), BOT Turow Zgorzelec (Poland-PLK, 2006-08), Unicaja Malaga (Spain-ACB, 2008-09), Valencia (Spain-ACB, 2009-10), BC Khmiky Moscow Region (Russia-PBL, 2010-11)
Thomas Kelati made his debut on the wing for Poland last summer during the Qualifying Round and the American-born swingman will once again line-up for his adopted country as he prepares to play in his first major tournament. If he achieves anywhere near the impact he found last year then Poland have found themselves a potentially prolific offensive weapon. Kelati is a devastating perimeter shooter and he will punish any teams who leave him open while those who guard him tightly will know they could be leaving space open elsewhere. This is the dilemma he poses since he is also happy to put the ball on the floor and penetrate or kick the ball to a team-mate. He knows what it takes to win having only just won titles in Russia during his first season and he is an excellent addition to the Polish roster because he also rebounds well. |
