Team 2010-11: Caja Laboral Vitoria (Spain-ACB)
Career: Valladolid (young teams), Forum Valladolid (Spain-ACB, 2001-2006), Akasvayu Girona (Spain-ACB, 2006-2008), Caja Laboral Vitoria (Spain-ACB, 2008-2011)
The past twelve months or so have been all about joy for Fernando San Emeterio. In 2010, he had a breakthrough season in Euroleague and captured the ACB title, highlighting himself with the "and 1" play that gave Vitoria the championship almost at the buzzer against Barcelona. Then he finally made the trip to the FIBA World Championship with Spain and, in 2011, he made it to both the All-Euroleague First Team and the All-ACB Team and received the Spanish League MVP trophy! Not bad at all and well-deserved, too. As a youngster, he destroyed Team USA at the prestigious Mannheim tournament, in 2002, with 38 points and 15 rebounds. His all-around abilities - forged very early, when he was taught the duties of a point guard, before switching to the wingman role - enabled him to get more and more credit, first with Valladolid, then Girona and finally with the powerhouse Vitoria.
