Career: Joventut Badalona (Spain-ACB, 2005-09), Regal F.C. Barcelona (Spain-ACB, 2009-11)
Since he scored 51 points, grabbed 24 rebounds, and dished 12 assists while hitting a half-court three pointer to take the U16 European Championship Men Final to overtime and then win it, way back in August 2006, Ricky Rubio's name has been known all around the basketball World. Still only 20-years-old, he has already won one Spanish League title, one Euroleague, two Copa del Reys and one ULEB Cup title, and was the youngest men's basketball medallist in the Olympics. At only 18, he hit the NBA draft board as high as number 5. After pondering joining the Minnesota Timberwolves for two years, he decided early this summer to go for the NBA. This natural-born talent has not lived up to all expectations though, and despite his uncanny mix of skills, still has to acquire steadiness in terms of driving a team and hitting outside jumpers. The reassuring presence of Calderon is very good news for him and for Spain.
