EuroBasket is an event which is always likely to hold a special place in the heart of Timofey Mozgov since it was during 2009 in Poland when he catapulted himself into the limelight and sparked a chain of events that would also see him launch his career across the Pond in the NBA. With Russia crying out for a fresh-faced center, Mozgov fit the bill perfectly and was the talk of the tournament, posting some encouraging and impressive displays. While his post EuroBasket 2009 form dipped a little, he showed at the FIBA World Championship last summer he is a force to be reckoned with, turning in almost 14 points per game in 20 minutes of action due to some terrific percentages while he also did a solid job on the boards. After his rookie season in the NBA which started with the Knicks and ended with the Nuggets, he should have even more skills and experience to bring to the table and there is every chance this ultimate late bloomer could once again be one of the main talking points at EuroBasket.
