After being the last man cut before the last two major tournaments, Alexey Shved will be hoping it is a case of third time lucky this summer and he grabs himself a spot on the roster for EuroBasket 2011. After a couple of years on loan at city rivals Dynamo Moscow, Shved spent last season back at CSKA where he grew in confidence and influence towards the latter part of the campaign. With excellent size for the backcourt, he is a playmaker who can create for himself and also for others, especially utilising the pick and roll. He has great ball handling skills, superb court vision and loves to run the open floor. While his perimeter game and defence is still evolving, the 22-year-old remains a big talent.
