Team 2010-11: University of Southern California (USA-NCAA) Career: KK Mornar Bar (Montenegro-Superleague, 2006-07), Stoneridge Prep (USA, 2007-08), University of Southern California (USA-NCAA, 2008-11)
Nikola Vucevic was always destined to pick up a basketball since both of his parents played professionally with his father Boro a former European Champion. Having survived a train crash in his days with Mornar Bar which claimed the lives of almost 50 of his fellow passengers, Nikola Vucevic has made the most of his good fortune. Having excelled at USC in the NCAA he was drafted earlier this year by the Philadelphia 76ers and it wasn't exactly surprising after posting a season double-double - a feat he also accomplished at the U20 European Championship in Rhodes two years ago. He offers a good post presence and while still only 20-years-old, his footwork is advanced and typical of his skill level. He can also make mid-range jump shots on a regular basis although he perhaps doesn't quite have the athleticism to compliment his excellent technical ability. |
