The NBA champion Golden State became the first team in the history to win 33 of their first 35 games in the regular season. They set the record after their last victory over The Lakers. The final score of the game was 109-88 for Golden State.
Golden State were simply the better team. They took a comfortable lead (37-25) in the first quarter of the game. The Warriors kept their good performance and at the half time they were 15 points in front (62-47). The third quarter was the sublime moment of the game, when Klay Thompson kept scoring points and made the result 92-60. Then The Warriors didn’t have any problems to win the game 109-88 and set a new record in the regular NBA season (33 wins in the first 35 matches).
Klay Thompson was the best on the field for the winners. He is in a great shape, as he scores at least 20 points in 8 of the last 10 Golden State matches. ‘It kind of demoralizes the other team when you just keep getting open look after open look, and I just got hot tonight,’ the man in form said after his brilliant performance. The guard scored 36 points, 22 of which came in the first quarter. Stephen Curry added 17 points for the success. The reserve Marreese Speights finished with 12.
Bad news for the visitors from Oakland was the injury, which Stephen Curry received at the end of the third part. The winner of the award ” The Most Valuable Player” got kicked in his left leg and sat on the bench in the last 12 minutes of the game. Because of injury in the same place Curry missed two of the previous four games of the Golden State Warriors.
‘It’s just frustrating and annoying and any other adjective you want to throw in there. Long term, it’s not something that I have to worry about. It’s just playing through an injury that’s there. It doesn’t get worse if I play on it unless I get kicked, and that’s happened three times since I did it. Hopefully, it won’t keep happening again,’ said the most important player Curry after the match.
The most useful Lakers’ player was Jordan Clarkson who finished with 23 points. Kobe Bryant did not take part in the meeting because of a shoulder injury. D’Angelo Russel was also unavailable for the game and that’s the other reason for Lakers’ poor result.
