LeBron James is a record breaker, but his team lost again

Cleveland’s star basketball player LeBron James has climbed to 18th place in the all time scorers charts in The National Basketball Association after scoring 24 points in the his team’s defeat to Toronto 99: 103. 30-year-old LeBron has now 25,298 points in his career, which is 19 more than Indiana’s legend Reggie Miller, who until now held the 18th position. However, this is hardly a great consolation to James, whose team gave in the third consecutive visit.

In fact, LeBron will hardly reach the leaders in the scorers chart. The first place is held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who has scored 38,387 in his career. We can also mention the scorers in the top 10. Karl Malone is placed second with 36,928. At third position is Kobe Bryant with 32,649. Then we can see players like Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, Shaquille O’Neal, Dirk Nowitzki, Moses Malone, Elvin Hayes and Hakeem Olajuwon.

LeBron James has recently joined the elite company of Oscar Robertson as the only two basketball players in The NBA history, found a place in the top 25 in points scored and assists.

As we mentioned Cleveland lost 99 :103 to Toronto. Toronto’s most effective players were Kyle Lowry and Demar Derouzan who scored respectively 27 and 20 points. The Argentinian veteran Luis Scola added 15 and DeMar Carroll finished with 12 points for the hosts. For Cleveland, Kevin Love finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds. JR Smith and Mo Williams scored more for the guests who, despite the defeat, retained first place in the Eastern Conference with a total of 11 wins and 4 losses.

Other LeBron’s records

This is not the first record for LeBron James. In his NBA match ever for Cleveland (2003/2004 season), the star basketball player broke the record for the biggest number of points, scored by a player who makes a debut (25). Then, he scored 41 points against New Jersey, which was the highest score for the season. Despite his great efforts and wonderful scoring abilities, LeBron couldn’t help his team to qualify for the play-offs.

James has been a part of the USA’s national basketball team since 2004. His first major trophy at international level was in 2007 when his team won The FIBA Americas tournament and qualified for the 2008 Olympics in China. At the Olympics USA went unbeaten and LeBron earned a gold medal again. During the 2012 Olympics in London, James recorded the first triple-double in the USA’s Olympics basketball history in a match against Australia (11 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists). USA again won the golden medals for the second consecutive time.

In his professional career, LeBron won 4 times the award for the NBA Most Valuable player. He is also Cleveland Cavaliers’ all-time leading scorer.
