San Antonio Spurs showed a great performance again

The basketball players of the San Antonio Spurs just can’t stop winning games. They have performed really impressive and have recorded the best home start in their history. The success 114-95 over the visiting team of the Washington Wizards was the fourteenth consecutive home victory for Spurs. This result helped them to set a new record. San Antonio Spurs haven’t already lost in 23 consecutive matches at home, which is also a new achievement in the history of Spurs.

Gregg Popovich gave Tim Duncan some more resting time, but that was not a problem for the five-time champions of the NBA. Five players of the team scored 10 or more points. Kawhi Leonard was the best player on the field. He scored 27 points, made 4 assists and 4 steals. LaMarcus Aldridge left with 14 points and Tony Parker recorded a “double-double” with 10 points and 10 assists.

“We feel wonderful, but at the same time we know we have to improve many things. We need to work hard, in order to continue winning games,” said one of the most experienced players of San Antonio Spurs – Manu Ginobili.

The Serbian player Boban Marjanovic also played well in the game and finished with 7 points and 6 rebounds in 15 minutes. 221-centimetre giant said that everything goes well for him since he has arrived in the NBA. “Everything is wonderful, I want to help my teammates. I am trying to play good in defence and do not interfere with players who can score. I think this is my work,”said Boban Marjanovic.

“I like his height. I guess that sounds funny, but he uses it well. It helps him on the offensive boards. He’s a great target on the pick-and-rolls. Besides that, he’s trying to change shots and play defensively, so he’s doing a good job,” said the coach Popovich for Marjanovic.

Washington’s coach – Randy Wittman was very disappointed after the game, but eventually gave an interview. “We can’t use that as an excuse. We just haven’t been consistent in terms of night in and night out. Night in and night out, your shooting can change. You take shots and miss shots, but defensively, and effort-wise, putting the commitment into it has to be every night,” said the head coach.

Spurs have now recorded 22 wins and 5 defeats since the start of the regular season, while the Wizards do not perform so well and have lost 14 matches so far. They have won on only 10 occasions.
